So a few editors on staff next year spent six hours in the office last Sunday, moving around furniture and cleaning things up and throwing out old paper. The two copy editors before me had separate sheets on the way of common editing mistakes, and because I apparently have obsessive-compulsive disorder, I needed to arrange them on one sheet, in columns, in alphabetical order.
I did this, but apparently not well enough for my satisfaction. So I got more paper and I'm going to redo it. But, in the event that I do not, this has technically been accomplished. Which makes it two down... 99 to go.
42. Try 15 new restaurants (6/15) - in progress
My mom and brother visited this weekend, and on Friday we went to Dukerz for dinner. It's a sports bar in Harrisonburg, and it was fabulous. I usually don't finish my meals at restaurants, but their cheeseburger was the best I'd had in a while. I inhaled it.
56. Exercise 2-3 times a week (3/143) - in progress
This week has been a little rough, so I exercised in unconventional ways and left my usual gym hours for napping. Moving filing cabinets on Sunday was a workout, and if you do not believe me, try moving filing cabinets. And then on Saturday I walked around the loop at Purcell with my mom -- not racewalking, but exercise nonetheless.
71. Take cardboard and newspaper to the dump - accomplished
Sorted the pile that had overtaken the area next to our trash can and took it to the recycling center. It was actually kind of a treat, because it was very warm on Friday and I had the windows down and the sunroof open, and I enjoyed the drive. I'll continue to do this, but I'm marking it accomplished rather than in progress. Three down.
74. Do my laundry in cold water (2/3) - in progress
I still haven't noticed any glaring stains left on my clothes, and I realized today that the heat from the dryer might kill some of the germs that I fear so greatly. So I'm thinking from here on out, I might stick with the cold water. I'll try it one more time, but I have good feelings about this one. If it saves that much money, I'm down
-Till next time
